The Guild is not an institution. It is a shared vision and system for decentralized network building. We cultivate a regenerative bioregional culture for the Salish Sea. There is no “box cover image” to help us assemble this puzzle. We work through social-ecological adaptive management. You may already be part of the Guild and not even know it. 🙂
Guild Strongholds – We cultivate social and physical infrastructures within watersheds and neighborhoods, so we can support each other tangibly, and build an ecologically coherent community.
Mobile Field Stations – we establish a self-contained temporary camp anywhere in the Salish Sea to support design, restoration and stewardship. We share food and labor and broaden our network around the campfire.
Salish Sea Wiki – we support an open knowledge network, built on the software used for Wikipedia. It stores information about the social-ecological system of the Salish Sea, an infinitely cross-referenced shared filing cabinet.
Eight Season Year – We anchor and organize our activities in the annual solar cycle. This reduces confusion about the work in front of us, and keeps us linked to the tangible sources of life.
